Position: Electrical Estimator
Location: Virginia
Overview: As an Electrical Estimator, you will report to the Construction Group Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating work as scheduled by the Construction Group Manager and assisting with project related tasks as required. Creates timely and accurate electrical estimates for proposals. Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing. Utilizes Microsoft Excel to create estimates. Prepares and maintains an estimating database, assemblies, and product lists. Prepares and maintains a list of suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors. Manages submittals and shop drawings for assigned projects. Develops construction proposals for delivery to customers. Works with administrative staff to develop subcontractor agreements, purchase orders, change orders. The successful candidate is well organized, can communicate effectively on both a technical and non-technical level, works well with other employees, possesses a strong work ethic, and always presents themselves in a professional and courteous manner.
Essential Job Functions of an Electrical Estimator:
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, wiring diagrams, electrical drawings, and manufacturer's installation manuals
- Knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution concepts, and applications
- Ability to read and understand the National Electrical Code; follows state and local building regulations regarding the National Electrical Code
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and efforts simultaneously
- Strong oral and written communication skills utilizing Microsoft Office software
Preferred Experience: Five (5) years of experience as an electrician
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent certificate Preferred
Certification/Experience: Journeyman Electrical License
