About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Controls Automation Technician to join our team in the oil and gas sector. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automation systems that optimize production processes, safety, and efficiency. The ideal candidate has experience with PLC programming, SCADA systems, HMI interfaces, and instrumentation in an oil and gas environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems for process automation.
Troubleshoot and repair automation and control systems, including sensors, transmitters, and communication networks.
Program, test, and modify PLC logic and HMI interfaces for improved system performance.
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on automation equipment.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and company standards.
Work closely with engineers, field technicians, and operations personnel to optimize automation processes.
Maintain detailed documentation of automation systems, changes, and updates.
Provide technical support for troubleshooting field instrumentation and control issues.

Qualifications & Skills:

2+ years of experience in automation, instrumentation, or controls within the oil and gas industry.
Proficiency with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Modicon, or similar).
Experience with SCADA systems (Ignition, Wonderware, ClearSCADA, etc.).
Knowledge of electrical schematics, P&ID diagrams, and industrial networking (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in industrial automation.
Understanding of hazardous area classifications and explosion-proof equipment.
Ability to work independently in remote field locations and on offshore rigs (if applicable).
Certifications (such as ISA, NCCER, or TUV) are a plus.
