Director of Quality and Sanitation

Position Overview
The Director of Quality and Sanitation will be responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and sanitation operations within the organization. This role ensures compliance with food safety regulations and standards, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and leads a team dedicated to maintaining high-quality products and safe working environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality assurance and sanitation programs to ensure adherence to regulatory compliance and internal standards.
  • Lead and manage a team of quality and sanitation professionals, providing training, development, and mentorship to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to evaluate compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards including FDA, AIB, USDA, and HACCP.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions that enhance quality and sanitation practices.
  • Develop documentation and reports related to quality control, sanitation processes, and compliance to facilitate effective communication and decision-making.
  • Manage risk assessment activities and establish protocols to mitigate potential quality and safety risks in production processes.
  • Oversee the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and sanitation efficiencies.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices, ensuring the organization adapts to changes in regulations and technology.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality assurance and sanitation within the food industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards (FDA, AIB, USDA, HACCP, BRCGS, RSPO, FIDSMA).
  • Proven experience in managing teams and leading cross-functional collaboration to achieve quality objectives.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop and implement effective quality and sanitation strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and process enhancement initiatives.
