Overview:

A premier San Diego-based law firm with a national reputation in securities, finance, and complex business litigation, real estate, and transactions is actively seeking a Lateral Partner with a portable book of business to join its elite team. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned litigator or advisor to take on a leadership role within a sophisticated, high-quality legal practice serving prominent financial institutions, investment firms, and international clients.

We offer the infrastructure, support, and prestige of a top-tier firm-with the autonomy and flexibility that lateral partners seek when looking to grow and scale their practice.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • An established attorney with a portable book of business in securities litigation, financial services law, real estate, tax, trusts and estates or complex commercial litigation/transactions.

  • Proven success managing high-stakes litigation or advisory matters from inception through resolution.

  • A strong network of institutional or financial services clients, such as broker-dealers, investment advisers, hedge funds, or private equity firms is a plus.

  • Ability to operate with autonomy while collaborating within a team-focused, quality-first legal environment.

  • Experience in FINRA arbitration, federal securities claims, business torts, corporate governance disputes, or transactional matters is highly valued.

What We Offer:

  • Prestige & Platform: Join a nationally respected boutique firm with deep resources, top-tier litigation support, and a strong track record of results.

  • Client Access: Work directly with sophisticated institutional clients and high-net-worth individuals in a collaborative environment.

  • Growth-Focused Culture: We prioritize professional development, client growth, and long-term partnerships, not just short-term metrics.

  • Compensation & Support: Competitive base, origination and performance-based incentives, and full-service operational support to help you grow your practice.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in the California Bar.

  • Minimum of 8-10 years' experience, including first-chair or lead counsel roles in complex matters.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships.

  • Strong legal writing, strategic thinking, and oral advocacy skills.

  • A portable practice that aligns with our firm's strengths in securities, finance, and commercial/civil law.

Firm Culture:

We are proud of our collegial, supportive, and entrepreneurial culture. Our downtown San Diego office offers an inspiring ocean-view workspace and a community of professionals who value integrity, excellence, and work-life balance.
