Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and capable Mid- to Senior-level Structural Engineer to play a key role in our organization and take on future leadership responsibilities. Technical skills will include experience in design and evaluation of commercial buildings, waterproofing systems, exterior enclosures, roofs, parking garages, etc.

This will be an ideal opportunity for the type of person who thrives on wearing multiple hates and the challenge of a problem that needs to be solved, both from the technical and client consulting side as well as the construction implementation side. 

This role would not be the right fit for the type of engineer who prefers just sitting, designing and drafting.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning, coordinating, devising and directing the evaluation/investigation of commercial structural and building envelope conditions.
• Collaborating with the existing engineering team while managing multiple projects within different stages of development.
• Being a hands-on Engineer: going onsite, speaking with the building owner/manager and communicating in layman's terms what the issue is and how you are prepared to fix it.

Qualifications

• P.E. registration and ability to obtain licenses in MD, DC and VA.
  (EITs with experience and are soon eligible for their P.E. will also be considered).
• Previous experience in the design and rehabilitation of structural and building envelope systems including exterior facades, balconies, plazas, parking garages, roofing and waterproofing.
• Ability to perform analysis and design, investigation, evaluation and diagnostic testing of existing building structures, exterior enclosures and building components and systems.
• Must be able to prepare and/or assist in the preparation of bids and proposals, as well as build and maintain good working relationships with property managers, clients and staff.
